"Dreadlocks"

The term "Dreadlocks"
comes from a movement of warriors who swore not to cut their hair until Haile Selassie, the Emperor of Ethiopia at that time, was freed from exile after leading resistance against the Italian invasion. The hair of the warriors became entangled and began to close over time.

The warriors with tangled hair were "dreaded" (dreaded in English). The term "Dreadlocks" became popular in the Rastafarian Movement in Jamaica and is one of the most popular hairstyles in the African Diaspora today. Down below is a picture of Ethiopian Warriors in November 1802!

Small beginnings are not to be despised...

I've kept this photo on hand for personal reasons ever since I found it. This humbles, inspires, and challenges me at every step, and it offers me a new perspective on people and life in general. Yourself Included! time and chance will definitely happen to all..
